|A forest ettin found in Silverpine Forest.|
|Faction/Affiliation||Independent, Twilight's Hammer, Horde|
The ettin are a race that seems to be some kind of beast resembling a cross between a giant and an ogre, living in Silverpine Forest and mountains around Gilneas and Redridge. One of these creatures came down looking for a snack, but was stopped by the worgen players. Another of these creatures was subdued by the Forsaken. Yet another of these creatures wanders the vicinity of Baradin Hold in Tol Barad and harries any Alliance or Horde forces that attempt to lay claim to the area.
In World of Warcraft: The Magazine Issue 5, Brann Bronzebeard says that enough fossils point to them evolving from ogres, but he suspects there might be a "missing link". Any fossil evidence was likely lost when Draenor was torn apart.

- The ettin also appear in Manual of Monsters Appendix Three, however the validity of this source is disputed.
- The name Ettin is an archaic English cognate to Old Norse Jötunn (giant of Norse mythology). In the Dungeons & Dragons and Narnia universes there are Ettins with similar physique.
