Highbank is the Alliance's main base of operations and harbor in the Twilight Highlands. [80, 73] Its Horde counterpart is Dragonmaw Port. Alliance players first arrive after Fargo Flintlocke gives you a ride to the Highlands in his flying machine and crashes at the town. When players wake up from the crash, the town is under attack by the Horde and is recaptured through phasing.

The town is unfinished, with only the walls and the keep complete (something players have criticized when comparing to the Dragonmaw Port, which was captured, rebuilt, and fortified in less time than it took for the Alliance to get Highbank to the point it is at now). Kurdran Wildhammer has been appointed the commander of Alliance forces in the Twighlight Highlands, and can be found inside the keep. Highbank has a docked ship, its name is assumed to be The Tidebreaker because of its crew of Tidebreaker Sailors. A portal to the Eastern Earthshrine is located in the center of the keep. The portal will become active after the completion of the quest Any Portal in a Storm. The portal is unusual in that you walk through it, much like the Dark Portal, instead of clicking on it.
