Mutilate is a level 12 Assassination rogue ability that requires two daggers, dealing damage and generating combo points.

Notes

Because mutilate attacks with both weapons, both attacks have a chance to crit. With [Seal Fate] it is possible to get 4 combo points if both attacks crit.

Patch changes

• Hotfix (2023-05-08): Fixed an issue that caused Mutilate to be unaffected by Assassination's [Mastery: Potent Assassin].
  
• Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): Damage increased by 5%. These changes do not affect PvP combat.
  
• Hotfix (2022-11-01): Damage increased by 5%.
  
• Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now learned at level 12 (was 40). No longer has a chance to trigger [Blindside].
  
• Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Now has a chance to make Blindside usable for free on any target, regardless of health.
  
• Hotfix (2018-01-09): Damage increased by 20%.

• Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): The tooltip on this ability will now update properly from talents which increase its damage by a percentage. In addition, the damage from this ability can now be blocked.
  
• Hotfix (2009-02-18): The Rogue ability Mutilate now does its appropriate damage based on talents.
  
• Patch 3.0.9 (2009-02-10): Damage will now do 20% increased damage against poisoned targets, down from 50%.
  
• Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): This ability will no longer give poisons on the off-hand weapon two chances to be triggered.
