Both the  [Narain's Scrying Goggles] and the  [500 Pound Chicken] forks must also be complete before Narain Soothfancy will offer the conclusion of the Blue Shard fork, The Good News and The Bad News.

Objectives

Recover the 8 lost chapters of Draconic for Dummies and combine them with the Magical Book Binding and return the completed book of Draconic for Dummies: Volume II to Narain Soothfancy in Tanaris.

Provided Item:

Description

I should have known. My arch-enemy, Doctor Weavil, up to his old tricks! And now, thanks to your failure in Winterspring, Doctor Weavil has destroyed my book! How are you going to save the world now, hero?

The note I received stated that the only known copy of "Draconic for Dummies: Volume II" was ripped into 8 parts and scattered to the wind! If you somehow manage to find those missing chapters, use this magical binding to put them back together and return to me.

Progress

I put my pants on just like you - one leg at a time. Except when my pants are on, I make arcanite buoys. Arcanite buoys, baby!

Completion

Fantastic! I can't believe you went through the hassle! Are you some kind of machine? If it were me, I would have probably just let the world implode.

I tip my turban to you, sir. And no good deed should go unrewarded.

Notes

While on this quest, if players have not looted any of the chapters, Narain says the following:

It... It's foggy, <name>. I can't see anything! Wait... Wait a minute. I see... I see Doctor Weavil's hideout. It... YES! I believe he is holding a chapter of the book!
Let me see if I can zoom this thing out to get a better vantage point.
<Narain appears to be going cross-eyed.>
Alcaz Island! That devious bastard is on Alcaz Island!

The eight chapters are located as follows:

Chapter Location Drops from Notes
[Draconic for Dummies] Alcaz Island, Dustwallow Marsh Combat Dr. Weavil Requires a raid group of ~15. Also drops the  [Diary of Weavil].
[Draconic for Dummies] The Tainted Scar, Blasted Lands Combat Felguard Elite
Combat Doomguard Commander
These require 4-5 people to farm effectively. (~4% drop rate)
[Draconic for Dummies] Darkwhisper Gorge, Winterspring Combat Hederine Initiate
Combat Hederine Slayer
These require 1-2 people to farm effectively. (~6% drop rate)
[Draconic for Dummies] Magic Quarter, Undercity On a table [77, 38] at the book seller, on table surrounded by bookcases
[Draconic for Dummies] Stormwind Keep, Stormwind City On a table [75.5, 29.9] turn left as you walk in to the library.
[Draconic for Dummies] Onyxia's Lair Combat Onyxia
[Draconic for Dummies] Blackwing Lair On a table Room after Combat Broodlord Lashlayer, along Combat Firemaw's patrol path.
[Draconic for Dummies] Molten Core Combat Ragnaros
  • Note: These pieces are white items thus they are in the round-robin loot table and cannot be master-looted.

That means, for chapter 1, 6, 8 that require a raid, you have to ask the raid leader to change the loot rule to 'Free for all' or ask the owner of the corpse to check boss' corpse even if he doesn't have this quest. In the later case, if the owner logs off or HSs, this will make effort in vain. Before patch 2.3 you had to ask every single member of the raid to check the corpse in order to find out who'd be the owner, but now it's already possible to check this on the tooltip.

Chapter 6 still drops from the level 80 version of Onyxia as the level 60 encounter is no longer available. Chapter 8 from Ragnaros has a time limit upon entering MC. The precise time is unknown, but it is relatively short, under two hours at least. If you are trying for the page, it is suggested to avoid as much trash as possible to maximize your available time for bosses.
