I totally agree -- please make the old version available again, somewhere. Bregdark 22:55, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I took matters into my own hands and created http://www.wowwiki.com/Burning_Crusade_Alchemy_Recipe_Source Bregdark 23:16, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Reorganizing alchemy recipe tables[]

Continuing the recent work of Ellesar1, I have separated the giant table into five sections - one for each level of alchemy skill. This will make it easier to navigate to relevant parts of the list.

After reading the above comments by Bregdark and Daoloces, I then began splitting the sections up into smaller tables with each table listing the recipes that come from a similar source. For example, recipes taught by a trainer are now in their own table, while recipes from vendors are in a table of their own too. Each table includes a special last-column that is intended to be most useful for recipes of that kind. The trainer recipe lists the gold price to learn the recipe. The vendor table lists the sale price and who sells it. The faction rep table lists what factions are needed. Etc.

I have also followed Ellesar1's example and placed all these tables on a new page Alchemy/RecipeTable/____ where ____ is Apprentice, Journeyman, etc. The tables on Alchemy_apprentice_recipe and Alchemy_master_recipe now also are generated from the Alch/RecTab/___ pages. Thus, the tables in both pages may be updated by a single change. This should help eliminate confusion.

There is still much work to be done on the expert through master levels. I will do a few recipes every day perhaps, as there are simply too many to work on all at once. Feel free to help out! Ddcorkum (talk) 17:40, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Wrath of the Lich King[]

I will be updating this page extensively in November to bring it in line with Wrath of the Lich King, most likely extending the format that has been useful in the Burning Crusade (dividing by trainer level and recipe source type). There will be empty tables in place before the expansion is released so that anyone wishing to contribute can place recipes directly into the appropriate category.

Something to remember, Wrath recipes that can be learnt at Alchemy 375 are still Master recipes, but they should have the Wrath icon next to the recipe. Recipes from 376 and beyond belong in the next category. This is at least how the current recipes are organized (some burning crusade recipes are only 300 and thus in the Artisan category, but with an icon indicating one must have the expansion to get them). If we are to put all Wrath recipes in the new category then I think we should rename the categories and apply this method to the previous Burning Crusade recipes as well, for consistency.

Cataclysm[]

Déjà vu. I will once again create placeholders following the format that Ellesar1 and I created back in 2008 to organise the list for easier read. Also, my thanks to Kaydeethree who added Ajax last year to this page, which has made our design even easier to use. ddcorkum (talk) 11:30, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Sadly I will have to remove the Ajax script that Kaydeethree implemented, due to incompatability with the new skin. Hopefully some day this feature can be restored. ddcorkum (talk) 01:32, October 21, 2010 (UTC) This comment had to do with WoWWiki and is not applicable here at Wowpedia.
