Gargoyles are humanoid bats, Tauren are humanoid bulls, so Furbolgs are humanoid bears. Charred But Alive 08:54, 23 June 2006 (EDT)

Then Batman is a gargoyle. And Charred but Alive is a humanoid bot.--Kirochi 17:07, 23 June 2006 (EDT)

Playable race[]

This section is unnessary, unless it is added to every possible race. I say throw it out and keep this info to the Rumored Races page.--SWM2448 16:50, 2 May 2007 (EDT)

I'm inclined to agree. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 20:25, 2 May 2007 (EDT)

They could start in Starbreeze Village? (Luxor (talk) 15:22, 5 January 2011 (UTC))

That has nothing to do with what that really old discussion was about. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 07:55, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

"Baergar Blackpaw"[]

Can we have some clarifications on who this fella is? --User:Vorbis/Sig

Furblogs the Alliance and the Horde[]

I think the furbolgs are getting their relationships with the alliance stronger and the horde lower.
Examples of this is the stillpine (draeneis famous questline), the blackwood (this tribe has saven from corruption by the alliance) tribes the horde made and quest just to kill the foulwead just because "theyre on our path".
With issue 5 from the warcraft comic it seems lo'gosh, broll are tryng to save the thistlefur tribe from corruption, if they succed or not might depend on their strengthening furblogs relationships with the Alliance (if Lo'gosh is truly the king of stormwind, i think it wil be even a stronger relationship).
Well this sums up what ive been thinking about the furbolgs and their relations (sorry for my english, its not my first language).--Ashbear160 23:10, 8 March 2008 (UTC))
No problem - I think it's a remarkable skill to be able to speak more than one language. ;)
And yes, the 'bolgs do seem to favor the Alliance; and I can't name one Horde quest (the Timbermaw are neutral) that considers helping the furbolgs as opposed to slaughtering them. If what you say about Lo'gosh turns out to be true, Blizzard will have all the excuses they need to start admitting furbolg tribes into the Alliance; not only as friends to the "Western Alliance" of night elves and draenei but also to the "Eastern Alliance" of humans, dwarves and gnomes. --User:Vorbis/Sig 22:51, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
i find more impressive that they were already here when the titans arrived, making them older than the taurens and the trolls, heck they might even be older than that because we dont know when they appeared, i find the furblogs one of the most interesting races in warcraft because of theyr misterious past and the duality of theyr society betwen the fighting and intelect, based on the demigods ursol and ursoc.
(i corrected a minor mistake hen i said issue 4 i meant issue 5 i feel silly now)--Ashbear160 23:25, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

In regards to their Faith:[]

Currently, the article quotes the following from the Alliance Player's Guide:

"Furbolgs are tied to nature. Some accounts have them worshipping primitive godlike figures, but primarily they revere nature and the spirits of the world. Furbolg leaders are shaman or druids — which furbolgs usually also call shaman, making little distinction between the two practices. Furbolg priests are unheard of; only those who break far from furbolg society would follow the path of a deity or philosophy."

Now I realize that I have no place to argue with such a source, but it seems that there are other sources, many of which in-game, in which the Furbolgs are said to revere the twins Ursol and Ursoc as primary dieties for their kind. I believe we will be seeing even more evidence towards this end with the release of WOTLK. Is it possible that the above observation is slightly flawed, as it was, from a lore standpoint, made by Brann Bronzebeard, who might have learned more of their culture had he studied them longer? Possible that the above is something of a cursory observation of the race? NocturnalAbyss (talk) 00:23, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Ursoc and Ursol are "primitive god-like" entities, actually most of the ancients are described as primitive deities in other sources. Also I'd have to check but that info may not be from the Brann written sections of the book. Ursoc and Ursol are definitely brought up in the book although in a later section, and are definitely brought up in other rpg books.Baggins (talk) 00:29, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Coincidence?[]

I don't play, but I keep hearing about the "Furbolgs", and every time I think of the "Fir Bolg". Was the name inspired that way? Blast (talk) 13:19, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

I am not sure. The Fir Bolg were human. By the way, there are some people called fir’Bolg in the Myth series of games. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 13:27, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
I found a source that calls them Furbolg and Firbolg. I am not sure if it is intended. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 04:36, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
The likelihood that they weren't named after the Fir Bolg is quite low. Anyway, it's mentioned in the myth section in the article. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 04:53, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Dralfsaar[]

User:Dralfsaar has added the name Dralfsaar to the racial leaders section in the infobox, and i can't seem to find any information about him, so unless anyone proves that he exists in the warcraft universe, then i'm going to delete it form the Infobox. Aedror42 (talk) 10:24, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

i don't think such a character exists in lore. deleting it would be best. --1201 (talk) 19:01, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Class confirmed?[]

Wasn't Ogtinc a hunter before he stopped, so why is the Hunter class presumed?

"It is no longer my purpose to hunt, but to teach the hunter. That is what fate has handed to me.".[1]

TherasTaneel (talk) 00:37, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't know why it says presumend, I'll put the reference in the article. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 00:52, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Tribes[]

This list needs some serious updating, lot of those corrupted tribes have been purified by the time of the cataclysm--Ashbear160 (talk) 02:05, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Which tribes exactly? The Blackmaw are a new uncorrupted tribe, but are a breakoff of the Timbermaw. I *think* there are a few Blackwood that are now friendly to Alliance in Darkshore... but most of them are not. The only place that has been 'purified' with Cataclysm is Teldrassil, and the furbolgs there, the Gnarlpine, have again fallen to corruption. I haven't finished the quest chain there, but even if the source of corruption is removed, the furbolg probably won't return to sanity anytime soon. Both Tyrande and Maiev in W3 were quick to put down corrupted furbolgs as being unsavable, even after the Legion was defeated and the Skull of Gul'dan destroyed.--Weasel (talk) 02:29, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
