Mobs[]

Please note, that NPCs you can attack are known as mobs and should be placed into the correct categories such as Category:Dun Morogh mobs and not Category:Dun Morogh NPCs. Also, when it comes to anything added in Cataclysm the correct patch is 4.0.3a. Keep up the good work, SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 23:11, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

Mass creations[]

Thank you for all the work you've done so far, however, since you've now been doing this for a while and are creating tons of new NPC/mob articles we're going to start holding you to higher standards, so that someone else doesn't have to follow you around the site and make corrections behind you.

Please do not take any offense to anything I or others may say towards you, just take it as advice to becoming a great editor. Often times I found making the corrections and then linking to the changes I make is usually the best way to see what you can do to become better, so I'll take some of your recent stuff and link those. It's my hope you learn from the following:

Thank you for you concern, with your help I will try keep Wowpedia as updated as i can.

Please mind the DEFAULTSORT tag down the article you create. Copy/Paste is nasty

Image licensing[]

Thanks for your contributions, although it has been noticed you have not been properly selecting a licensing option when uploading your images. Selecting one is very simple and easily found in a drop down list just under the summary box. If you forget to select one while uploading, don't worry you can simply edit the image's page to fix it. The full list of options can be seen here. Images without a proper license may become a candidate for speedy deletion. For more information please see WP:IMP. Thank you,TherasTaneel (talk) 00:08, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Quest pages[]

For quests that received very minor updates, please just update the page and not move the old one off to an "original" space. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 18:53, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Flight master[]

Thanks for adding Luk'gar; I kind of forgot about him lol... even though he's not active he's definitely tagged as a flight master, so I moved him to the chart just after the Horde city and newbie zone flight masters. Usually try to arrange them in rational order (the order you'd likely encounter them) but no Horde questline ever leads to Darkshore, so had to put him somewhere. Catch any others or have any corrections feel free; I think I've caught most of them as far as I know but occasionally someone finds something I missed. Some day will have to make articles for all those flight masters in red lol... Troodon9999 (talk) 02:27, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Hearthstone wiki[]

Hey there, and thanks for getting the Hearthstone article off the ground. I'm writing this message to let you know that we've just set up a sister wiki for Hearthstone on Gamepedia (we're on Gamepedia too). If you're interested, feel free to help get that wiki off to a good start. Thanks again for your edits and please keep up the good work! --k_d3 16:46, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Wowhead and Burning Crusade content[]

Dunno the exact reasons why, but nearly everything flagged as being added in patch 2.2.0 on Wowhead was actually added when TBC launched (patch 2.0.3). Patch 2.2.0 added virtually nothing, so it should be safe to assume that if it says patch 2.2.0 on Wowhead, it's actually patch 2.0.3. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 18:55, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Lesser tauren tribes[]

Does every tauren family name really need a page?--SWM2448 19:21, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Maybe not, but they are listed on the Horde organizations.(Shammiesgun (talk) 19:24, 20 May 2013 (UTC)).
I should cull things from that page more often. The "organization" lists have minimal oversight.--SWM2448 19:57, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
As a general rule, small families and organizations with only one member should not have pages. This like this can be noted, but not on their own page.--SWM2448 22:46, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Elemental Unrest[]

These mobs and NPCs were added in patch 4.0.1; the event ended in patch 4.0.3a with the release of Cataclysm. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 09:38, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Blanking pages[]

Please use {{speedydelete}} if you make a mistake by creating an article you didn't intend to create, instead of just blanking the page. Thank you, SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 22:16, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

The speedydelete template should also be used INSTEAD of blanking the page, not in addition to it. Remember also to use | in the template to add a reason for the deletion request. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 17:39, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

NPC categories[]

Please note all categories involving Shadowmoon Valley and Nagrand from outland have been moved and things dealing with Draenor should be using the normal category names Category:Shadowmoon Valley / Category:Nagrand. Joachim Demonsbane vs Jonathan the Vigilant[]

Hi, you seem to replaced all Joachim Demonsbane's the content with Jonathan's...? --Mordecay (talk) 17:54, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Oh, sorry about that. (Shammiesgun (talk) 18:08, 3 August 2015 (UTC))

Battlehealer Rui[]

Have you seen this NPC in the game? --Mordecay (talk) 18:08, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

I still have to double check, I do that when I create an NPC page for the zone. If I find a mistake, I'll simple add rfg.Shammiesgun (talk) 18:17, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Edits[]

When creating a page don't forget to add extra space between sections and also remove the unused lines in infoboxes. It looks nicer and one can edit quicker when he doesn't have to look and scroll through long infoboxes and search for another sections while editing.

Keep up the good work! --Mordecay (talk) 19:35, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Follower Spells[]

Hey nice job with the follower spell pages. I see you've categorized them as items though. I'm pretty sure they are actually spells however. PeterWind (talk) 03:23, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

I think what they need is there own category. I'll add an icon to find them fast. Shammiesgun (talk) 09:08, 13 February 2016 (UTC)
Ah I mean the way you categorized them. Using the Itemip template, without the |doc= will categorize them as items, which they are not. The pages you have made are for the spells asociated with "learning" the follower. I haven't worked much with the ability template so I can't say if that one is more practical to use here. But yeah my main point was that they shouldn't be listed as items. PeterWind (talk) 09:49, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Hearthstone images[]

I would appreciate if, when uploading images from Hearthstone, you could first check sites like WoWCards and searching (using Advanced Search) for the artist name to see if the artwork has already been used in the TCG before uploading, so that the file can have the correct name and licensing. Also, I noticed you uploaded File:XT-002Deconstructoricon.jpg earlier — just because a character or location is depicted in the corner of a piece of artwork (that isn't really artwork at all, as far as I can tell, just looks like a stretched-out version of an inventory or achievement icon) doesn't mean it's worth uploading as a separate file and putting as an infobox image. Maybe it's just me that cares, but I tend to be a bit nitpicky about this sort of thing. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 15:44, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Also, I'm fairly certain that just because there's background artwork of a creature on an in-game instance map (e.g., file:OggleflintArt.jpg), that doesn't automatically make it official artwork of the boss located in the same room. In the case of the Oggleflint image you uploaded, I'm pretty sure it's actually a piece of stone trogg concept art from Cataclysm. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 20:26, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

Factional Icons[]

A discussion is taking place at Forum:Neutral Faction Icons about these icons, I'm attempting to get opinions from editors like yourself about this issue, please make your opinion known. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 19:13, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Patch changes[]

The newest patch notes go to the top of the Patch changes section. Thanks! --Mordecay (talk) 12:09, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

Mean Streets of Gadgetzan factions[]

Just so you know, I'm waiting until more lore and artwork becomes available before I make pages for the Grimy Goons, Kabal and the Jade Lotus (particularly Kazakus, Aya Blackpaw and White Eyes), so around the end of next week if the card reveals continue at the same pace as they have so far. No need to make them now, considering how all of the pages you created today were essentially just empty placeholders with no useful information on them other than the card art and "[NAME] is a [RACE] in Gadgetzan". Until then I might change the links to those pages to links to the HS wiki to reduce the amount of redlinks. Also, if you're not going to be using a line in the NPC infobox template, please just remove that line instead of cluttering up the wikitext. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 15:46, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Volunteer Guard Day[]

Can you please resize your image used in the holiday template?--SWM2448 19:17, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Sure as soon as I finish the balloon event.Shammiesgun (talk) 19:18, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Template pics[]

Hey, please, see Talk:Event#Micro-event_templates. Also, this could be smaller as well? --Mordecay (talk) 17:15, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Robot[]

Hello, are you robot? --Mordecay (talk) 23:10, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

No... Shammiesgun (talk) 23:14, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
U sure? --Mordecay (talk) 23:24, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
Yes. Shammiesgun (talk) 23:26, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
Cool! I am just wondering how you are creating the infoboxes. You may have noticed how other editors often (if not always) go through it and... have to redo it almost completely. And, my dude, u have been doing it LITERALLY FOR YEARS! :D You are using the same weird infobox "pattern". I guess you use something like this maybe? I ask coz I wanna help, coz I love how u mass add pages. So how do u create pages? Are you logged in the game or are you using wowhead or some other database when doing pages?--Mordecay (talk) 23:32, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
A combination of game explorations and wowhead searches. As for your template, I think I might use it. Mine is a bit outdated anyway. Shammiesgun (talk) 23:37, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
Hehe, well, ok if u want. TBH, I might have exaggerated here, but u doing a good work just... dem unused lines... they are not necessary to be included in the template when nothing can be added to them. So just remember to remove unused lines and fill as much as possible. I wouldn't have written here, it just the lines. Otherwise, keep up the good work! --Mordecay (talk) 23:45, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
yeah it's nice to have someone creating all these pages Xporc (talk) 10:42, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
Same, just glad someone adds the pages as I don't mind working through them. There is one thing I'm curious of however. Oftentimes you add the gender for mobs, where it is not entirely obvious from appearance or name such as Bonegnasher the Petrifying. Are you just using this macro? Been a long time since I used it myself so I'm not sure to which degree Blizzard adds that info for animal mobs like that. PeterWind (talk) 14:38, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I do use that macro sometimes. However, I try to use other means such as quest text and other quotes. I should probably reference them on the spot.Shammiesgun (talk) 16:28, 1 July 2017 (UTC)
Ah well, it was just out of curiosity :) PeterWind (talk) 20:18, 1 July 2017 (UTC)

Mardum's objectives[]

Hey, I added the fact tag because there's mention of "different objective(s)" of Mardum. So the question is those objectives are different from what? --Mordecay (talk) 20:27, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

No, that is not how you read the sentence. Different Objectives as in Breeding Felbats, Summoning Demons to kill them on Top of the Fel Hammer, Keeping the planet secured. After the Illidari captured Mardum, they have been using it for Breeding Felbats, Summoning Demons to kill them on top of the Fel Hammer and keeping the planet secured. (I probably should have sentenced it differently.)Shammiesgun (talk) 20:34, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

Djinns[]

Is the Skywall djinns feigning death mentioned somewhere? --Mordecay (talk) 11:51, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Unfortunately for that no, I simply used logic and deduction. They were a boss, their corpse scattered on the ground and now they appear in Legion. I would have created a separate page, but they have the same model and they never appear again. Shammiesgun (talk) 12:45, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Mission mob screenshots[]

Hey! As a small heads-up, when dealing with mission mob screenshots, Wowhead sometimes have bugs in their modelviewer. When you come across weird looking models, WoWDB model viewer at times have working ones. PeterWind (talk) 13:26, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Hey, still about mission mobs, could you stop putting them as "Deceased characters" please? Have their status as "Killable" instead. Xporc (talk) 20:03, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

Hey, just curious how did u find the correct ID (as the models match) for Admiral Kronnor since the NPC id is named differently? --Mordecay (talk) 16:12, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

Must be a change in wowhead as this was done long ago. Shammiesgun (talk) 16:15, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

Manga images[]

Seriously man, some of these pictures are way too small and low-quality. I'm ok with adding them, but stop replacing high-res and colored screenshots with black, white and blurry pictures... Xporc (talk) 20:18, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Icons[]

Hey, I don't think every single NPC in the world needs a custom icon image. We usually use custom icons for NPCs that 1) have a custom model or 2) are quite important. If a human character uses the same model as the other 93402843 in the game, they don't need a personal icon, just use the human icon. -- MyMindWontQuiet 11:27, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

For some characters I like it. Like, Lorna Crowley, the human female icon is blond, while Lorna has black hair with a rose in it. I'm happy she's got her own icon even though she's not all that important. For other characters it isn't really needed. Xporc (talk) 11:47, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Mass creations[]

Hey there. As always, your work is always appreciated and we've noticed you are enthusiastically plugging up the Special:Wantedpages red links you find, but could you please try to slow down a bit and try to double-check your edits? I mean, at some points you copy paste way too much, by adding {{Stub/BfA}} tags to Warlords of Draenor areas, and the "Alterac Valley items" category to the Inv mace 1h draenorquest b 01 [Gordunni Skullthumper]... Xporc (talk) 09:54, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Come on please. For weeks now we've been telling you to slow down with the page creations if you don't intend to fill them out properly. What is the point of creating pages like Cerulean if you have no intention of at least making them presentables, giving more work to other editors while you just go and copypaste templates care-freely? According to this talk page you've been doing this for years, please please have a bit more respect for your fellow editors that have to fix your work after you ... Xporc (talk) 13:33, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Thank you very very much for the noticeable improvements! Xporc (talk) 08:55, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
Please, you're slipping back into your habits of creating a mass of poor quality-pages. I understand some pages may be filled with placeholder text, but at least don't put typos into the page's names. Xporc (talk) 15:31, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

WoD Tokens[]

It's always nice to see your enthusiasm for page creations, but if you plan on going ahead with the other armortype tokens, could you use one of the cloth ones I updated as your template instead of the Tanaan ones? Such as Inv glove mail draenorhonor c 01 [Baleful Cloth Gauntlets]. PeterWind (talk) 18:53, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Nice work on the other baleful pages! PeterWind (talk) 07:37, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

BfA pages[]

Don't forget to use {{Stub/BfA}} for BfA related pages. For the ingredient pages, I'll add links to the crafted items, as per WoWDB. Seeing as the names of the cafted items are likely subject to change, I don't think, actually making the pages yet will be high priority though. At least not yet. Im merely adding them to keep track on the BfA progress. PeterWind (talk) 07:37, 15 February 2018 (UTC)

Artifact relics[]

I've seen you make a pages for a few of the Legion relic tyes. We already have a page for Artifact Relics, so maybe you could link back to that in some form. Where is the trinket part, you are adding, from? I've never heard anything about relics fitting in trinkets. PeterWind (talk) 16:29, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

Oh that, I should have probably just called them relics. Those object are the relics themselves. E.g.
[1]Shammiesgun (talk) 16:40, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
Right yeah, those parts were just meant to be the lists of the various relic types. I see what you were going for. PeterWind (talk) 17:02, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

Nowiki on guild links.[]

Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of edits such as this one? Removing guild links, one at a time? PeterWind (talk) 07:30, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

These guilds don't exist anymore. I just want to tidy up without removing anything. Shammiesgun (talk) 07:48, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
Sure, but wouldn't it be better to just remove the "["s and "]"s leaving behind their names in plain text? I think you're right in assuming that, by now, it's not realistic that many would write articles on dead guilds, but leaving behind those long stings looks more messy, in my opinion at least. So in cases such as this one, I personally think "Aurora" or "Aurora (Mal'Ganis US)" would be better than the whole "[[Guild:Aurora (Mal'Ganis US)|Aurora]]" string. In this case, servers are already listed, so just Aurora should be fine. PeterWind (talk) 09:07, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
I would agree. If you want to make it clear it used to be a link, I'd go with bold or italics. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 09:19, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Elinks[]

It's good to see you've started using them, but I think I should elaborate on my changes to the pages you've created, in that regards. If there's only one NPC by that name, using the ID is optimal, but when several IDs exist, the "NPCsearch" is better. If later, it turns out, that one ID is unused ingame, we can switch back to using only the available one. PeterWind (talk) 10:26, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

Items[]

Please don't create 8.0 items. It's useless when they don't have a name and the alpha isn't nearly balanced. Xporc (talk) 16:16, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

Move[]

Man, when you move a page such as Thomas (child) you have to update all the links that were previously pointing to it. You've been here for years, longer than me, you should take care of such problems yourself. Xporc (talk) 21:34, 4 March 2018 (UTC)

Okay, since it seems you want to move things these days, please remember this. There are still links pointing to normal Sethe when they are meant to talk about Sethe (alternate universe), like the link in N [30-40] Sons of Sethe. When you move something, you have to update every link, otherwise I'll just end up reverting your changes. Xporc (talk) 21:40, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

The Witchwood characters[]

Hello! So as you probably know, the Monster Hunt mode launches in Hearthstone today (around the same time that I post this message, in fact). I would appreciate if you held off on creating Wowpedia character pages for all the various bosses and characters in the Monster Hunt, since I would prefer to create those pages myself so I can make sure that they're of as high of a quality as possible. Thanks. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 17:01, 26 April 2018 (UTC)

Daaaaaaamn. --Mordecay (talk) 20:20, 26 April 2018 (UTC)

Description[]

Hi there, this description in Waycrest Manor#History, do you know where it comes from ? Is it the old dungeon journal ? -- MyMindWontQuiet 14:28, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

No, its just a basic synopsis of how we got there.Shammiesgun (talk) 15:12, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
So you wrote it entirely ? Asking because it's written in italics, which usually implies it was taken verbatim from an official source. -- MyMindWontQuiet 17:22, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I wrote it.Shammiesgun (talk) 17:38, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
Alright, I removed it, since the Adventure Guide says the same thing and is official. FYI, italics should generally be used when you are quoting verbatim from an official source, like in Adventure Guide sections or official descriptions for example. -- MyMindWontQuiet 19:07, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

ALT categories[]

Not sure about the category in Toothsmash the Annihilator. Are you sure it is needed? --Mordecay (talk) 17:10, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

I've been thinking about, but after a while I don't think it's necessary. I'll change it.Shammiesgun (talk) 17:25, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

Pictures[]

Come on, you did this to multiple pages. -- MyMindWontQuiet 22:29, 18 August 2018 (UTC)

Yo, I'm also temp-banning you for a day because honestly I think we're all tired of dealing with the insanity. I think at this point you've been warned multiple times over the years and you should know very well why this is happening. Xporc (talk) 23:58, 18 August 2018 (UTC)
Well, at least some of them are nice. --Mordecay (talk) 00:44, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
I don't think the problem is the images temselves, but more the formatting, and the act of putting them as infobox images in all cases. In some situations, it's probably fine, but if you see half a face from a bad angle.. It's fine to include the image on the page ofc, but I'm not sure those should take precedence over a decent ingame shot as innfobox image. PeterWind (talk) 09:34, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
Fair enough. --Mordecay (talk) 10:21, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
I would also like to add that you don't need to put literally every single image of a character ever on their page. If there are more pictures than paragraphs, consider paring it down a bit. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 11:01, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
Shammies already had a warning about such things earlier in the year. Xporc (talk) 21:31, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
Don't make any more icons. You've been blocked for a week for circumventing that by uploading to an external source. --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 16:34, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

Anti-aliasing[]

Hey, when you take ingame screenshots, could you turn up the anti-aliasing to avoid the rough edges? See the difference between this shot without anti-aliasing and this shot with. PeterWind (talk) 11:56, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

Bump on this. While the angle on your newer screenshots are all decent, better anti-aliasing would really be appreciated. PeterWind (talk) 17:55, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Interwiki links[]

Hi. The {{elink}} template is to link to external sites, but to link to Gamepedia wikis we use special templates :

  • {{hs|<Page title>}} or {{hearth|<Page title>}} for Hearthstone
  • {{hots|<Page title>}} or {{heroes|<Page title>}} for Heroes of the Storm
  • {{sc|<Page title>}} for StarCraft
  • {{diablo|<Page title>}} for Diablo
  • {{ow|<Page title>}} for Overwatch

See PeterWind's edit to your page for example. -- MyMindWontQuiet 13:49, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

Naming[]

The {{bettername}} template doesn't mean we get to invent cool names for pages like Deception at Nazmir, or The Drust War, or else. Try to stick to descriptive names only, for example "war against the X", or "war between the X and the Y", like your Drust War page was moved to war against the Drust. -- MyMindWontQuiet 22:42, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

Hearthstone content on Wowpedia[]

A vote is taking place at Forum:Hearthstone content on Wowpedia#Voting about Hearthstone content on Wowpedia. I'm attempting to get editors like yourself to make give their opinion on whether this content should be redirected or be kept, please make your opinion known. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 18:12, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

Yo. When you upload hearthstone pictures, please stop just abandoning them, I'm tired of putting them on their related pages. Xporc (talk) 10:30, 17 November 2019 (UTC)

Quality of uploaded pictures[]

Hey man. Almost every single one of the pictures you've posted in the previous weeks is seriously lacking in quality. Please, either crank up your graphical settings when taking screenshots, or you'll see your uploading rights banned entirely. Xporc (talk) 13:25, 11 November 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for having noticably improved on the issue. Xporc (talk) 15:46, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

TCG[]

Okay, seems it's again that time of the year where I have to tell you to improve or that you will get banned. Please take a look at my recent edits of your TCG card pages and take them into account when creating new TCG cards because the time I have at my disposal for that is limited.

So please:

  • For any card you add, please remember to add the appropriate stub and image request templates in the hope that someday, someone will come and fix them.
  • When your card links to another one, for example how Jaina, Lady of Theramore links to Jaina Proudmoore, please remember to add a link back in Jaina Proudmoore to Jaina, Lady of Theramore.
  • For original TCG characters/items/abilities/locations it's necessary to add the usual "Category:Human characters" and so on, but for cards that redirect to another (see the Jaina Proudmooore example above) that's not necessary.

Cheers. Xporc (talk) 23:58, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for having taken my request into account. If you could be a liittle bit more careful, such as making sure not to forget to update the categories, or accidently swap the race and class, that would be great Xporc (talk) 10:58, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

Vol'dun subzones[]

Don't create empty stub pages like Slithering Gulch just to remove red links. It's not helpful. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 12:32, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

I'd recommend reading WP:STUB. — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 12:59, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Tribes[]

Can't you at least include some info such as members or theater of operations? Simply stating that a tribe is member of the race of the related template, from which the page is linked, isn't really anymore helpful than the red link. PeterWind (talk) 22:46, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

Temporary ban[]

Look man, once again you've slipped back into your old bad habits of mass-creating pages without any concern about their quality whatsoever. Like in this example, you create pages with missing content, missing categories, typos... In other cases like this one, you actually manage to create pages with no content whatsoever that isn't already described in their name, making the page somewhat even less useful than a red link.

Everyone is pretty tired of this at this point, and you've been doing it for years. Your talk page is almost only made up of people asking you to please stop doing something, or to ask you to improve the way you work. Sometimes you do it, but always for a limited time, and you almost never answer when talked to. On wowpedia's slack channel, you have sadly become a meme :/ People were willing to be more lenient in the years before, but by now you've been here longer than many other contributors. And you still contribute like a junior editor.

For your information:

  • This is a collective decision, I am merely the one enforcing it, and the decision has been unanimous. I am even lowering the actual ban time, some people wanted it to last a month. A month is what you may get next time if you don't manage to make long-term improvements.
  • I don't do this with joy, I'm actually sad and unwilling to do it. No one is happy about the situation. I think most people would love to see you contribute with better edits rather than see you gone, especially since you often contributes with stuff no one else is working on, like fixing red links.

So please, use the time to reflect on why you are contributing to wowpedia, and hopefully come back with the will to improve long-term without people having to yell at you every few weeks Xporc (talk) 17:56, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

If I may, compared from previous years, I see that he improved with the infoboxes a bit, so here's a plus.
From what I can gather from your edit patterns, it looks like you use some kind of pre-written parameters and fill the rest manually. So if you are not already using it, maybe you could give Wowpedia:Wowpedia Editor's Toolkit for NPCs a try. It greatly helps with this kind of slave-edits we make, although it doesn't do everything. Some parameters would still need to be added manually tho.
Another thing you could probably try is additional program called PhraseExpress (free) which loads text you want, text you would type manually comes automatically, making easier to complete and fill a page. I use it even for words, and also for several infobox parameters like affiliation, occupation, character, status (all in one strike of a key), for section headers not generated by the toolkit, and for categories, in order to have everything prepared for me to fill easily and quickly. --Mordecay (talk) 18:55, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

Well, your major improvements were noticed. Xporc (talk) 08:09, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

Hey man, you're starting to go haywire again. Please try to enforce normal consistency instead of trying to come up with new and convoluted ways of working, you already know how this could end if you don't improve Xporc (talk) 12:35, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
Yeah well, people were complaining about you, but after checking your recent edits, I am sad to say they were right. I'm temp-banning you for a day as a warning shot indicating I am serious about this. If you want to mass-create pages again, you better make sure they are perfect and people won't waste tons of hours finishing them for you. Xporc (talk) 16:13, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Please don't add image requests when you create item pages. Xporc (talk) 21:31, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

After checking his pages, there were some small mistakes in params that are now fixed. Moreover, the pages will still be updated because the game or databases still have some stuff absent, and there will simply be changes in general. I don't think those small mistakes warranted a ban, nor did those image requests that he placed in equipment pages since some older pages do have images as does the item boilerplate. If we don't want them now, a simple request on shammies' talk page should have been enough. Overall, the pages he did were done very good, with some descriptions better than mine's or peter's. Would you mind reconsider the ban? --HordeRace bloodelf male Mordecay (talk) 22:52, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm open to anything, I just want shammies to stop trying to use new and bizarre formats when he creates new pages Xporc (talk) 00:04, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Yo. Please don't create orphan categories, you should know the rules by now. Xporc (talk) 09:51, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Hey. When you create categories, please make sure all the relevant pages are updated to fit in. There's a reason these categories where still red. Xporc (talk) 11:50, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Man what the heck, this is the third time this month I have to tell you to stop forgetting stuff. When you create a location's page, and it's not mentioned on the zone's template, please add it to the template. Xporc (talk) 10:21, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Visions[]

Hey! You've been adding some good stuff to the vision pages. Could you please try to follow the format of the page though? PeterWind (talk) 20:34, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

TCG Card images[]

Hey, thanks for uploading missing card images! One thing I ask is if you could add |card= to the license like this after uploading so they are categorized correctly. Thanks! — SurafbrovWowpedia administrator T / C 12:16, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Also this, even today Surafbrov still has to cover for your missing information. Xporc (talk) 16:14, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

Cut subzones[]

If the only thing that changed from cut subzone to released subzone is the name, you can just put that info under trivia for the released subzone. PeterWind (talk) 22:38, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Bump. Feel free to not do this same thing ten times. PeterWind (talk) 04:22, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
Hey man you've already been banned once because of poor edits, no one wants to repeat that. Xporc (talk) 08:25, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

WoW time[]

Hello, can I interest you in some free WoW time, courtesy of Fandom? Or another game perhaps? --PcjWowpedia wiki manager (TDrop me a line!C207,729 contributions and counting) 01:39, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Devourer[]

I just added a {{merge}} tag to your recently-made article, Devourer, because I'm not sure that these three-headed creatures truly are a 'race' as can be substantiated by the references provided. Giving you a heads up in case you want to join the discussion DDC (talk) 01:49, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Item advice[]

Hey, the items you created were fine but contained some mistakes. There's a very easy way to create item pages. In case you are interested in that, you have to go into your preferences, open the Gadgets tab, and tick the "Adds functionality to generate item pages complete with tooltips from the drop down menu on edit pages." option. Now, when creating a new item page, you just have to mouse over to "more" (next to the search bar) and click "Create item page". A popup window shows, click ok / press enter. The item's infobox and external links are automatically created. You only have to add the intro sentence, fill correct patch number, and add a category if needed. However, several parameters, like type for bags, need to be added manually. In case the item name has parentheses, you have to add the name or ID number to that popup window. Feel free to ask if there's any question about that. --HordeRace bloodelf male Mordecay (talk) 22:28, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Faction disambiguation on items[]

Instead of using faction disambiguations as with quests, on items we use the "versions" template like so. PeterWind (talk) 21:38, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Nopics[]

heya, when creating nopics, can you use a darker gray for the background? the one you're using is a little garish on the HydraDark skin, and it doesn't match the style of any of the other nopics. personally i'm fond of the color #464646, though a number of older humanoid nopics use #333333.

also, the font used in most nopics is called Morpheus. you may need to download it from a font site, since i don't think it comes standard on most operating systems.

thanks, —Eithris (talk) 23:14, 19 August 2020 (UTC)

Maw mobs[]

Anything in the Maw (or anywhere else in the Shadowlands themselves) should be patch 9.0.2, not 9.0.1. 9.0.1 was just system changes and the Death Rising event. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:22, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

When copy/pasting[]

Hey! While it's nice to see you're eager to contribute, the latest spree hasn't really been quite top shelf! It's fine to use one or several pages as templates, but perhaps you could use a page that has already been cleaned up? Otherwise we'll have to fix the same mistakes on all the new pages you make. You could also take a look at the Wowpedia Editor's Toolkit. PeterWind (talk) 13:22, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
