Vengeance Landing

Vengeance Landing at BlizzCon

Vengeance Landing is the military outpost for the Hand of Vengeance, located northeast of Daggercap Bay and Utgarde Keep. It is the Horde port in the Howling Fjord, a place entirely built and run by the Forsaken under the direction of Sylvanas Windrunner. As the Horde's main point of arrival in eastern Northrend, they've got their own docks, taking in ships from Tirisfal Glades, and a zeppelin tower which ensured the passage with the other outside of Undercity. The whole town looks sickly, even from a distance, a yellow pall hanging over the vale around it.[1]

The Alliance ambushed Vengeance Landing, having established a small camp outside its walls. The Horde soldiers were not making any progress because of the cannons perched atop the fortifications. To help the infantry, an adventurer is sent by a bat to the navy, under attack offshore. They helped the sailors, suffering under the same ambush, by clearing their decks to make room for the support guns to fire. Back to dry land, the adventurer launched flares on the Alliance defenses, aiding the sighting of the naval guns.

After the war against the Jailer, the military outpost was mentioned as still active by the brothers Bronzebeard.[1]

Notes[]

  • The cannons at the landing can be fired, producing a small muzzle flash and a sound effect. They then need a moment to reload before they can be fired again.
  • Prior to the events of Battle for Azeroth, the connection between Vengeance Landing was a zeppelin. Since the docking tower of Undercity was destroyed in the Battle for Lordaeron, a mage portal was established to link the two regions instead. Taking the portal from Vengeance Landing leaves the player next to Zidormi, east of Undercity. To take the portal to Vengeance Landing, the player must speak to Zidormi and go back in time to before the battle and then go to the zeppelin platform.
