Zarhym is found inside the Cavern of Lost Spirits on the northern side of Timeless Isle. He starts the "Zarhym Altogether" event:

Alright. I need some help... I'm lookin' for my body. It's somewhere in this cave, but you can only see it if you're in the spirit world. If you want to help me find it, let me know.
Be warned, though. The Timeless Spirits can kick us out of the spirit world, and I don't think I'm strong enough to get you back in there for a while if they do.
Gossip I'm ready to enter the spirit world.

In this phased version of the area, the only mobs, Timeless Spirits, are mogu ghosts that are immune to damage, have an aggro radius marked on the ground, and will eject players from the spirit realm upon completion of a 4-second channel. Explore the area looking for Spirit Chests while avoiding the aggro radii of all of the spirits. Chests have 30-60x [Timeless Coin], 10-100x [Valor Points], and 4-20x [Lesser Charm of Good Fortune]. Each chest may only be looted once during the event.

The skeletal remains of Zarhym's body are found at [53.7, 30.9] / [45.1, 31.6] at the end of the cavern, and will reward ~150x [Timeless Coin], ~10x [Lesser Charm of Good Fortune], and 1 timeless armor token. Zarhym just brushes it off though, preferring to stay without it.

Zarhym will start the event once a day for players.

Loot check macro

To check whether the event was started today, copy and paste this command into the chat window:

/run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(32962))

If a "1" appears in the chat window, the event was started today, and "nil" indicates the reverse.

Trivia

This, of course, is a cameo of Community Manager Jonathan Brown of the Blizzard forums, who uses the screen name Zarhym and is known for his ghost skull avatar.

Symbolism

Questionmark-medium.png
This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

It's possible that the spirit world in this case means the Blizzard forums, and the Timeless Spirits that kick him out of the spirit world represent negative forum posters who drag down the experience, forcing him to take a break. His eventual rejection of his body and desire to float around freely may indicate his happiness with time spent on the forums interacting with the community in various contexts.

Patches and hotfixes

  • Hotfix (2013-09-11): "Zarhym should now properly despawn after a player has started the event to search for his body."
  • MoP Patch 5.4.0 (2013-09-10): Added.
