Mastery: Ignite is the Fire Mage Mastery, improved by the mastery secondary stat. It applies a damage over time effect to targets hit by the mage's [Fireball], [Fire Blast], [Scorch], [Pyroblast], or [Flamestrike], the target burns for additional damage over 9 seconds. Ignite also procs off [Meteor] and [Phoenix Flames] if the Mage is talented into these spells.

Tips and tactics

  • Ignite cannot critically strike and is unaffected by Haste.
  • Ignite can spread onto targets who aren't in combat, including neutral targets.
  • When Ignite spreads, the duplicate Ignite will have the same remaining duration as the original.
  • When Ignite attempts to spread to a target already affected by Ignite, it checks the other Ignite's remaining damage. If the other Ignite has more damage remaining, the spread will fail; if the other Ignite has less damage remaining, the spreading Ignite will overwrite it.
