World of Warcraft - The Emerald Dream

The Emerald Dream

Introduction

The living force of corruption known as the Nightmare is spreading through the Emerald Dream, the very soul of Azeroth, threatening the balance of the Titans' creation. The champions of the Alliance and the Horde must venture into the mystical realm and confront the Nightmare directly.

Face your fears, or fall into a nightmare from which you will never awaken...

Emerald Dream Expansion Changes and Updates

  • The Emerald Dream Revealed: New content zones have been added - The mysterious and unknowable realm shaped from the very soul of Azeroth, the Emerald Dream's sprawling, supernatural landscape is filled with wonders that could not exist in the waking world, and many new lands exist to explore. The Dream's landscape matches the original pre-Sundering Azeroth, a vast world that has not been seen in 10,000 years. The Dream contains 6 leveling zones, 1 max-level zone, a new capital city zone, and a starting zone for the new race: Treefolk.
  • New Race: Treefolk, playable by both Alliance and Horde. Players will choose which faction they will join at the end of the Treefolk starting zone content. Choose which treefolk faction to align with - Guide the Wisebough Treefolk into a union with the Alliance, or lead the Strongbark Treefolk to seek their destiny with the Horde.
  • 7 new dungeons can be found throughout the Dream, and a new max-level version of the Temple of Atal'Hakkar is available in Azeroth.
  • New raids have been discovered. Thwart the dangers of the Dream or the world as you know it will be swallowed in darkness.
  • New PvP zone - prove the worth of your faction to the Dream's mighty animal demigods.
  • The Path of War - new leveling system for players to advance with.
  • The Art of War - a 4th spec for all classes.
  • New content is level 100+.

Patches

There are two major and two minor content patches for the Emerald Dream expansion.

The Art of War - Fourth Specializations for all Classes

The world is filled with enemies more dangerous than mortal minds can truly understand. Distant lands thought lost to time have been found. New worlds have been discovered. Powers ancient and unfathomable have been harnessed. The mortal defenders of Azeroth are prepared to unlock new skills and new ways to wage war.

All classes have been granted 4 specializations, allowing players to unlock their character's full potential and take them into battle in never-before-seen ways.

The Path of War - Unique New Leveling System

Players will no longer grow by simply by acquiring experience points to advance one level at a time. Players will be able to customize their character progression using the Path of War.

New Zones

The Emerald's new high level zones are accessed from Ashenvale's Bough Shadow for the Alliance and Feralas' Dream Bough for the Horde. Players will unlock the Great Tree portals at those locations to enter the Dream.

  • Neutral Proudtree's Rest (1-10) - A verdant grove untouched by the Nightmare, where many treefolk dwell. When the Nightmare threatens to swallow the peaceful wood, the treefolk reach out to the Alliance and the Horde for aid. This is the introductory zone for new Treefolk characters.
  • Alliance Shimmerholt (100-102) - The sprawling woodlands of the northern Dream, filled with glass-leafed trees, silver plant-growth, and great slumbering hill giants.
  • Horde Ignaris Mountains (100-102) - This towering mountain region is covered with ancient evergreen forests, growing from the colossal forms of sleeping mountain giants.
  • Neutral Eden'ar (100+) - The very heart of the Dream, where the green dragonflight once roosted. Spiraling minarets of living wood and great courts of mossy green stone blend seamlessly with the natural landscape of the zone. Portions of the forest-city have been given to both the Alliance and the Horde, while some sections are quarantined due to the creeping infestation of the Nightmare.
  • Neutral Frostholt (102-104) - Towering frosty peaks and forests made of living ice dominate the hostile north. Within its frozen crevasses, this land hides an ancient evil.
  • Neutral The Forevergreen (104-106) - A lush jungle land filled with verdant life. Forested mountains and swampy valleys dominate this region, with plantgrowth that could only exist in the magical dimension of the Emerald Dream. Here the secrets of the Titans can be found...
  • Neutral Sea of Zurvan (106-108) - The peaceful sea of the western Dream holds countless wonders, including colossal mangrove trees and islands float overhead.
  • Neutral Thanacross Wastes (108-110) - The once lush fields of this region have been warped into a frightful desert by the Nightmare. Jagged spires of black stone arc above vast expanses of green-glowing sand.
  • Neutral Rift of Aln (110+) - A roiling fissure of darkness and corruption located to the south of the Dream. The Nightmare holds full sway here, and those who brave the yawning chasm risk never returning. Not with their sanity intact...
  • Neutral Malorne's Glade (PvP) - A secluded region, surrounding in the fog of the Nightmare but not yet completely corrupted. Here the animal demigods of the Dream gather to watch over the battles of the Alliance and the Horde, judging which faction has earned their blessing.

Zones to be added
